Do you ever find yourself wrestling with your inner critic? I personally have struggled with this for years and negative self-talk is one of the main things that will push me into that “low place”, depression.
Well, I had the pleasure of sitting down in-person to have a chat with Dr. Maria Dominguez, also known as Dr. D (PhD, LMFT) and I jumped in the hot seat to get her help with quieting my inner critic. It was great to finally make this happen because we’re actually both military wives, not only stationed at the same base but we live around the corner from one another. Crazy!
Dr. D (PhD, LMFT) is a bilingual and multicultural Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist and Life Coach. With 15 years in the field, she has developed a practice focused on cultivating resilience and using it as a tool of empowerment, within each client, to guide them in transforming their own mindsets, emotions, and relationships.
In this week’s episode we discussed scenarios of the inner critic during normal daily routines, as well as the inner critic as it pertains to pursuing goals and dreams. Dr. D walks us through tactical ways to interrupt our inner critic and insert nurturing self-talk in it’s place.
